Pathé decided to start off previews on Monday which is quite unusual, especially for independent films. This therefore presents the production company and the film itself as quite innovative, in fact Spectre followed on with this trend and premiered on Monday 26th October. It is also noteworthy that Suffragette was released on the 12th October in the UK which gave it two full weeks to play before Spectre came in and took all the money out of the market. Both of these strategies have contributed to Suffragette's success.
